Patient Records - Microfilm to Web

At the beginning of 2004, Castle Document Management was contracted to convert a microfilm system for recording patient registration details and associated correspondence into an electronic web-based filing and retrieval system, for one of the UK’s leading medical insurers.

Customer advisors now access patient records through their intranet browsers in a fraction of the time taken to look up microfilm records previously.   Web access is password protected, and downloaded files are encrypted via an SSL certificate.

About 2 million documents have been recorded to the system to date, with between 8 and 10,000 new documents being added each week.
