What is... Microfilm Scanning

All microfilm formats – 16 & 35mm roll film, fiche and aperture cards – can be digitised, usually to tiff format. The results are essentially similar to paper scanning, but can suffer adversely from poor quality of the microfilm originals, as is often the case.
